Camping

Who wants to fly away to sandy white beaches and turquoise oceans when you can holiday in Great Britain?!  But in the current financial climate foreign holidays are outside most families’ budget, so alternatives must be sought which still allow people to get away from work and home life, and seek relaxation or adventure.

Camping is an increasingly popular way of holidaying for several reasons.  The first is that as we rely increasingly on technology many people feel they are never not at work – emails may be received round the clock and many businesses are operating 24 hours a day on the world wide web.  For some workers the idea of holidaying in a rural location, with the minimum of facilities, especially electricity and communication is very appealing.

The same advances in technology mean that, for others, camping need not mean an escape to the bleak countryside with no contact with the outside world!  Both communication technology and camping facilities have improved in leaps and bounds.  Camping can now mean a luxury motorhome with all of the modern conveniences of home - 24 hour electricity, satellite television and mobile broadband access.

Finally, for those not keen on the concept of pitching a tent in inclement weather and eating cold food in the dark before endeavouring to sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor ‘boutique camping’ is the perfect solution.  Whether at a campsite or music festival a luxury tent, for example a yurt, tepee or ‘pod’ structure will be pitched before your arrival.  These tents are usually equipped with flooring, comfortable beds and lighting, and are often decorated in a homely style.  Best of all – campers can simply leave the tent at the end of their stay, with no packing up or drying equipment on the washing line for days to follow!
